U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda, Eric Kneedler, has reaffirmed America’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Rwanda following a strategic meeting with Jean-Guy Afrika, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
The meeting, described by Ambassador Kneedler as “productive,” focused on strengthening partnerships that connect “people, ideas, and investments” between the two nations.
“We explored ways to better connect people, ideas, and investments across our nations,” he said in a statement shared on social media.
The high-level engagement comes on the heels of a record year for American investment in Rwanda. In 2024 alone, U.S. investors contributed $485.6 million through 39 projects, helping drive Rwanda’s total newly registered investments to $3.2 billion, equivalent to over RWF4.528 trillion.
These investments span key sectors such as manufacturing, ICT, energy, and services, highlighting Rwanda’s growing appeal as a gateway for high-value business in the region.
RDB has positioned Rwanda as a competitive destination for international investors through pro-business reforms and strategic partnerships.
Ambassador Kneedler’s visit signals continued momentum in U.S.-Rwanda relations, particularly in advancing private sector-led development, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
