On Friday, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, DIGP Vincent Sano is briefed Formed Police Unit contingents set to be deployed under the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic.
Formed Police conducts escort duties, public order management; protection of civilians, UN personnel and facilities, among others.
Last month, March 28, the United Nations decorated 320 Rwandan Police peacekeepers in the Central African Republic in recognition of their sacrifice and contribution to peace, stability and protection of civilians in the host country.
