The Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance (RICTA) has launched an initiative aimed at bolstering the online presence of businesses and organizations in Rwanda through discounted .RW domain registration.
Businesses yet to secure their domain names can now benefit from discounted pricing of up to 10% for registering their .RW domain names for up to 10 years.
Under this program, companies can safeguard their online identity for a decade by paying only Rwf114,000, resulting in savings of Rwf17,100.
This move underscores RICTA’s dedication to supporting Rwanda’s business community in navigating the digital realm securely.RICTA CEO, Grace Ingabire, stressed the importance of securing domain names to protect digital identities, adding, “In today’s digital era, safeguarding your company’s name online is crucial for brand protection and business continuity.”
In addition to discounted rates, the initiative offers personalized sessions with RICTA’s experts to educate companies on the significance of online name protection.
RICTA’s team also provides on-site visits to ensure companies grasp the risks associated with neglecting their online presence.
The initiative addresses RICTA’s observation that many businesses overlook the risks of not protecting their brands online, including the possibility of unauthorized use by others.
Meanwhile RICTA aims to dispel misconceptions about RW domain registration costs and processes.
Many businesses are unaware of the option to redirect traffic from existing websites by registering a .RW domain.
With an annual registration fee of just Rwf12,000 and discounts for longer periods, RW domain registration offers affordability not widely recognized among businesses.
This initiative extends support to international brands interested in Rwanda, encouraging them to establish a digital foothold in the country.
