On Sunday afternoon, President Paul Kagame hosted Togo’s President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé at Urugwiro Village during an official visit aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between Rwanda and Togo.
The two leaders first held a closed-door meeting before engaging in bilateral discussions alongside their delegations. Key areas of focus included agriculture, trade and investment, green financing, and energy, among other sectors.
President Kagame underscored the importance of turning agreements into action, saying, “Once we have visited each other, we have discussed, we have reached agreements, what remains is just to get to business and do what we have to do.”
President Gnassingbé’s visit marks his return to Rwanda following his participation in President Kagame’s inauguration ceremony in August 2024.
The discussions reflect a mutual commitment to strengthening economic and developmental cooperation, with both nations expressing optimism about building impactful partnerships for sustainable growth.
