Ngororero, Rwanda – This afternoon, Prime Minister Dr. Édouard Ngirente visited the Rukaragata mining site in Ngororero District, where he assessed ongoing mineral extraction activities. The site is operated by Power M, a company specializing in the extraction of high-value minerals, including cassiterite and coltan.
The visit underscores the Rwandan government’s commitment to responsible mining practices and the sector’s contribution to economic growth. Rwanda has positioned itself as a key player in the global supply chain for strategic minerals, particularly coltan, which is used in the production of electronic components such as capacitors for smartphones and laptops.
