MTN Group has appointed Ali Monzer as its new CEO, replacing Mapula Bodibe.
Monzer previously served as the CEO of MTN South Sudan, a role he assumed in April 2024. He first joined MTN in 2004, holding various positions before becoming Chief Technology Officer at MTN Uganda. He later transitioned to lead MTN South Sudan before being appointed as the head of MTN Rwanda.
His expertise in leadership and technological advancements contributed to the growth of MTN in South Sudan, a country known for its political instability. Under his leadership, MTN South Sudan became one of the best-performing companies in the region.
There are high expectations that his skills and experience will further enhance MTN Rwanda’s operations. Monzer is set to officially assume his new role in April 2025.
He holds a background in technology and has previously worked at MTN Nigeria and MTN Ghana.
MTN Rwanda recently announced that in 2025, it is committed to maintaining high-quality services, ensuring sustainable profitability, and fostering innovation to enhance financial services in the country.
