One of the best private security companies in Rwanda has aquired 90 more professionally trained guards after undergoing a three months vigorous basic training course.
At a colorful graduation ceremony graced by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) incharged of Infrastructure Security and Private Security Providers (ISPSP, Jeanette MASOZERA, 30 female and 60 male guards were awarded certificates of Basic training course accomplishment.
By law, all private security firms are supposed to hire professionally trained guards. A course, privately attained, normally costs between Rwf450,000 and Rwf600,000 per trainee.
However, Guardsmark offers the course for free as a scholarship token to its guards and in an effort to support and build the industry.
The firm, established in 2015 and acquired by investors in April 2021 with barely 150 untrained guards rebranded and grown to over 1000 guards.
SSP Masozera congratulated the graduates and urged them to maintain discipline, professional conduct and exhibit exemplary behavior throughout their assignments.
She said that their duties are critical in ensuring safety wherever they are deployed.
She assured full support by the Rwanda National Police (RNP) as a partner in providing safety, enforcing law and order in the country.
The Chairman Board of Directors, John Bosco Bugingo, who also attended the ceremony, promised the graduates full support and resources so that they can serve diligently and efficiently.
He said the company will continue complying with the law as part of its contribution to safety and the development of the country.
He promised continuous training and support to ensure it’s guards meet the required standards.
The guards are aged between 18 and 25 years. Bugingo said the firm’s aim is not only to provide security services, but also to create employment to the youth.
Faith Mbabazi, one of the graduates said that she is grateful for the opportunity and promised serve diligently now that she has aquired the required training.
The next intake is scheduled in September 1, 2023.
