Amidst the solemn commemoration of the two-year anniversary of Russia’s aggression, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Andrii Pravednyk, expounded on Rwanda’s significant role in global peace and security.
He also lauded Rwanda’s support to Ukraine.
“In these challenging times, Rwanda’s solidarity with Ukraine has been invaluable. Their unwavering support for our territorial integrity and sovereignty is deeply appreciated,” remarked Ambassador Pravednyk, emphasizing Rwanda’s steadfast advocacy for Ukraine’s cause on the international stage.
Highlighting Rwanda’s proactive stance, Ambassador Pravednyk expressed gratitude for the country’s pivotal role in endorsing key UN resolutions condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
“Rwanda’s votes in favor of these resolutions demonstrate their commitment to upholding international law and promoting peace and security,” noted the Ambassador.
Central to the discussion was the Peace Formula, a comprehensive plan endorsed by the international community to restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity and ensure global security and justice.
“The Peace Formula remains our beacon of hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Its universal applicability extends beyond Ukraine, offering a pathway to peace in other regions plagued by conflict,” Ambassador Pravednyk told Taarifa in an exclusive interview.
He highlighted the growing diplomatic ties between Ukraine and Rwanda, citing recent high-level engagements between the two nations. “The meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and Rwanda at the World Economic Forum was a significant step towards deepening our bilateral cooperation,” the Ambassador noted, underscoring the importance of such engagements in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.
Looking ahead, Ambassador Pravednyk reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to expanding diplomatic relations in Africa, with Rwanda serving as a cornerstone of these efforts.
“The newly established Ukrainian embassy in Rwanda will play a crucial role in fostering people-to-people contacts and promoting mutual understanding between our two nations,” affirmed Ambassador Pravednyk.
