RwandAir has been crowned Best Regional Airline in Africa at the 2025 World Airline Awards, a prestigious global aviation ceremony held at the Air and Space Museum during the Paris Air Show.
The annual awards, often dubbed the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” are organised by Skytrax, the leading international air transport rating organization.
This accolade highlights RwandAir’s growing stature among African and global travelers alike. It comes as the airline continues to win acclaim for its service quality, punctuality, and overall passenger experience.
According to Skytrax, customer feedback emphasized RwandAir’s consistent “attention to service detail across all elements of the travel experience.”
“RwandAir continues to distinguish itself through a clear focus on service attention,” said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. “The airline has created an experience that stands out in its category—professional, considered, and personal—as it continues to evolve its regional product with confidence.”
RwandAir has become a regular feature at the awards, underlining its rise as a competitive force in regional aviation.
The recognition signals growing brand visibility and loyalty across Africa and beyond.
Established in 1999, the World Airline Awards are the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey and are widely regarded as a global benchmark of airline excellence.
The 2025 edition of the awards surveyed travelers from over 100 nationalities, with more than 22.3 million valid entries received between September 2024 and May 2025.
Importantly, the awards are fully independent, with no fees charged to airlines for entry, logo usage, or inclusion. Over 325 airlines were included in the final results, based on votes collected in eight languages, including English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese.
RwandAir’s latest win reaffirms the airline’s commitment to providing a best-in-class experience on regional routes and enhances Rwanda’s growing profile as a continental aviation hub.
