Rwanda, Türkiye Sign Agreements to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Rwanda and Türkiye have signed four agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in key sectors, signaling a commitment to deeper bilateral relations.

The agreements, signed during a joint press conference attended by Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, cover media and communications, civil aircraft accident and serious incident investigation, radio and television, and military electronics and C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) technologies.

“It is evident that both Rwanda and Türkiye are equally committed to exploring more opportunities to collaborate. The signing of the agreements is an indication of this shared vision for deeper cooperation,” President Kagame said during the press briefing.

President Kagame was officially welcomed in Ankara by President Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. The two leaders held a private meeting before engaging in broader bilateral discussions with their respective delegations.

The agreements reflect a growing partnership between the two nations, with Rwanda focusing on enhancing its global ties and Türkiye continuing to expand its engagement across Africa.

President Erdoğan highlighted the significance of the agreements, stating that they represent a shared ambition to foster innovation and development in mutually beneficial areas.

The new partnerships are expected to pave the way for further collaboration, particularly in technology, defense, and media, aligning with both countries’ strategic priorities.

This meeting underscores the strengthening ties between Rwanda and Türkiye and sets the stage for future initiatives to bolster economic, technological, and cultural exchanges.
