Russia said it wants to continue bombing Ukraine until it is weakened and then pleads for negotiations according to Vasily Nebenzya, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
“One of the goals of the special military operation is to undermine the Ukrainian army’s combat capabilities. And it will be attained by military means until the Kyiv regime takes a realistic position, which will make it possible to discuss and try to settle those problems, which have prompted us to launch the special military operation,” he said.
Nebenzya made the remarks during the latest UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2022, summoned due to Russia’s massive strikes of Ukraine’s infrastructure including critical energy facilities.
According to him,Western military aid is flooding the country, and describing the calls for Kyiv to defeat Russia as reckless.
He also said that NATO and Ukraine’s so-called Western sponsors are “deriving colossal profit from the war in Ukraine,” and use Ukrainians to test NATO weapons and establish hegemony in the region.
Meanwhile, the French President Emmanuel Macron said that Russia should be punished for missile attacks on Ukraine.
Kremlin’s official spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “The special military operation is fulfilling its tasks. There were no strikes made on social facilities — we pay special attention to that. As for targets that are directly or indirectly related to the military potential, they are subject to destruction.”
He added that The administration of Ukraine has every opportunity to resolve the situation — “to meet the requirements of the Russian side and end all possible suffering of the local population.”
On November 23, the Russian armed forces carried out a massive strike with the use of long-range high precision weapons against Ukraine’s military command and control system and related energy facilities, the Russian Ministry of Defence told reporters on November 24.
The railway transportation of reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, foreign weapons, military equipment and ammunition to combat areas was disrupted as a result of the strike.
The goal of the attack has been reached. All designated objects have been destroyed,” the Ministry of Defence reported.
