Featuring genres from rock to Afrobeat, the competition gives both rising and established musicians a platform to share their artistry with a wider audience.
Originally launched by Kigali Marriott to celebrate local talent and enrich Rwanda’s cultural landscape, the “Battle of the Bands” has evolved into more than just a competition. It’s a vibrant stage for artists to pursue their dreams and connect with fans. This year’s lineup features ten bands from across Rwanda, each bringing a distinct sound and story. From the high-energy rock of Jacklight to the jazz rhythms of AFROJAZZ, each band will showcase the passion and creativity that characterize Rwanda’s music scene.
The journey begins on November 30th with the first preliminary round, followed by a second on December 7th. The semi-finals take place on December 14th, culminating in a grand finale on December 21st, where one band will claim the title. Audience members will have a voice in the selection process, joining the panel of judges to decide the winner.
