MTN Rwanda in partners with Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) proudly announces an Inter TVET competition across the country.
This initiative falls within the economic empowerment and education pillar of the MTN Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy and marks a significant milestone for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools across the nation, for the first time in Rwanda.
Through this initiative, MTN Rwanda is joining forces with the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) to extend the reach of the Inter TVET competition to all Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools nationwide.
This inclusive competition invites participation from every TVET institution, provided their projects demonstrate feasibility, solve real world problems, showcase revenue-generating potential, and champion diversity and inclusivity with a.
The primary objective of this competition is to foster a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration among these institutions, with a dedicated focus on pivotal areas such as environment, agriculture, education, financial services, and health.
Through this collective effort, the competition aspires to generate innovative homegrown solutions that can significantly enhance the well-being of our communities.

She said thay investing in their development is an investment in future leaders, offering them a platform to innovate and contribute to the advancement of our country.
She added that, “we see it as our duty to utilize our platform and brand to serve and inspire young minds, encouraging them to embrace innovation and creativity from the very beginning. Through the Inter TVET competition, we aim to propel the next generation to shape a brighter and secure future, aligning with our vision for a connected and thriving Rwanda.”

This partnership underscores our collective commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and inclusivity in TVET, empowering schools across the country to contribute meaningfully to economic and social development for Rwanda’s progress.
Rwanda TVET Board Director General Paul Umukunzi highlighted “Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools are dynamic and provide a platform for students to showcase their skills and embrace innovation. We are excited to witness how the students will utilize this competition to enhance their learning experience. We thank MTN Rwanda for initiating this competition and taking on the pivotal role of mentoring our students during the incubation period. I believe all the participants will learn the vital connection between hands-on expertise and cutting-edge technology which they will use to generate solutions for the advancement of their communities and country at large.”
The shortlisted TVET schools will undergo an incubation period between 27 November and December 1, 2023 where leaders from government institutions and MTN Rwanda will mentor them.
This will be followed by a Pitch Day on 4 December 2023 which will give the TVET schools an opportunity to present their projects to a panel of judges.
The top three most impactful projects will be awarded Rwf5 million, Rwf3 million and Rwf2 million respectively, to exemplify our appreciation for their outstanding contributions to community development on December 8, 2023.
