In celebration of Customer Service Week, Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd (MoMo Rwanda) recently handed over two brand-new Volkswagen T-Cross vehicles to two lucky winners: Adela Kiza, a merchant from Musanze, and Michel Ndayambaje, a customer from Ruhango, as part of the BivaMoMotima campaign.
The BivaMoMotima initiative, which launched in February 2024, aimed to reward loyal customers and merchants who made payments using MoMoPay. The grand prize ceremony took place in Musanze and Ruhango Districts, marking a significant milestone in MoMo Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening customer trust and engagement.
“I couldn’t believe it when Mobile Money Rwanda called me. This is my first car, and as a mom of two, I know it’s going to be a big help in getting from point A to point B. I’m motivated to get my license now and put this car to good use. I’m incredibly grateful to Mobile Money Rwanda. All I did was encourage my customers to pay using my MoMo code. This has made my year. I am overjoyed,” shared Adela Kiza, a merchant from Musanze District.
Michel Ndayambaje, from Ruhango District, who made the most MoMoPay transactions during the promotion, expressed his gratitude: “I’m thrilled to have won in the BivaMoMotima campaign. Although I was already using MoMoPay before, I became more focused on using it when the promotion started in February. As a father of four, owning only a motorcycle made transporting my children difficult. I’m beyond happy to receive this brand-new car. Thank you, Mobile Money Rwanda.”
The BivaMoMotima campaign was open to all MoMo customers and merchants, offering them a chance to win weekly cash prizes ranging from Rwf 50,000 to Rwf 1,000,000. In addition to monetary rewards, participants also had opportunities to win non-cash prizes, including televisions, motorbikes, shopping vouchers, air tickets, and smartphones.
During the prize handover, Chantal Kagame, Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd, celebrated the campaign’s success. She said, “Congratulations to Michel and Adela. We hope you enjoy your new vehicles. As we mark Customer Service Week, we reaffirm our commitment to going above and beyond for our customers and merchants. By continually improving our MoMoPay services, we empower our users to transact easily and securely. These prizes are a symbol of our gratitude for the trust and support our customers show us every day. The BivaMoMotima campaign, first launched in 2022, has awarded a total of Rwf 76,500,000 in cash prizes to date. It has also given away 19 motorbikes, 19 televisions, 9 air tickets, and 75 smartphones, along with 14 fuel vouchers, 360 shopping vouchers, and three brand-new cars.
