The battle has began between renowned Congolese Rhumba maestro Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba aka Koffi Olomidé and Prosper Faustin Mouanza aka Koffi de Brazza.
Koffi Olomidé from DRC accuses another Koffi from neighbouring Congo Brazaville for illegally using his stage name to scale to stardom.
The two men on Friday July 21, appeared before a fully packed High Court of Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo.
According to details, the hearing on July 21 saw the presence of the main complainant Koffi Olomide, according to his lawyers Claude Coelho and Yvon Eric Ibouanga.
In this case, Koffi Olomidé, musician artist accuses Koffi de Brazza of using his pseudonym and his artifices to obtain success.
The Kinshasa based Koffi Olomidé is seeking the courts to compel Prospère Faustin Mouanza to stop using the name of Koffi de Brazza.
In addition, he requests the withdrawal by Prospère Faustin Mouanza of all the artistic works he has produced under the pseudonym of Koffi de Brazza.
He recalls that the decision which was to intervene must be provisionally enforceable, without guarantee and before registration notwithstanding all means of appeal.
Good to know, Koffi Olomide’s request was addressed to the president of the High Court of Brazzaville through his lawyers.
