Imbuto Foundation has continued its initiative to support teenage mothers, with a visit this week to young mothers in the Kivuye, Rwerere, and Nemba sectors.
The program focuses on empowering young girls who became pregnant at an early age, offering guidance on child care, nutrition, and emotional well-being.
During the visit, the foundation engaged with the mothers, discussing topics such as preparing balanced meals, breaking out of isolation, and accessing continued support from healthcare professionals trained to assist them.
Launched in 2020, the program has reached 436 teenage mothers across 13 health center areas in Burera District.
As part of the initiative, healthcare workers have been trained to provide tailored support for the girls and assist families in resolving conflicts caused by early pregnancies.
Imbuto Foundation’s efforts are aimed at building strong, resilient families by fostering dialogue and providing the necessary tools to young mothers and their families to overcome challenges.
