Firmin Yangambi Libote, a Congolese lawyer and human rights activist based in Kisangani has accused the East African Community force (EACRF) as a major player in the balkanization of his country.
According to him the recent decision to share the boundaries of the areas of operations by the regional force of the East African Community (EACRF) after the withdrawal of the M23 is annoying.
Yangambi says he is “very” annoyed by what he considers an “absolute” abandonment of sovereignty over a good part of the national territory.
For him, this is an act of high treason and an official balkanization of the country. He accuses President Félix Tshisekedi and his collaborators of being the author.
“As a Congolese citizen, I cannot let go of seeing an absolute abandonment of national sovereignty over a large part of the national territory. This abandoned part under the control of the EAC is larger in area than Rwanda, which covets parts of the DRC. This is for me an act of high treason for which the perpetrators are known. They are the Head of State Félix Tshisekedi and his collaborators. They must be prosecuted, ”said Yangambi, in an interview this Tuesday with local tabloid politico.
Yangambi estimates that this readjustment of control of the areas of operations by the various contingents of the regional force of the EAC will benefit Rwanda accused of support the M23.
“I do not see, today, the Ugandan army coming to prevent the Rwandan army and their M23 allies from walking in Kiwanja, in Bunagana, in Rutshuru. Kigali regime is the fruit of Museveni’s regime. The real godfather of this expansionist and warmongering enterprise is Museveni. The control of part of our country by the foreign army such as Uganda is a real disaster. This is official balkanization,” he explained.
Yangambi, a former political prisoner under the Kabila regime, for 10 years, considers Kinshasa’s reaction “childish” which promises to carefully analyze the new plan of the said regional force. According to Yangambi, the country is at war and we must defend ourselves.
“War is a legitimate right of any attacked State. The Congo is at war, and I don’t understand why Félix Tshisekedi and his collaborators say that the country does not want war. War is upon us, we have to fight it. If Tshisekedi, Lutundulu and the others are not capable of waging war, we have to take care of them, get them out of power, give power to people who are capable of waging war”, said Yangambi.
It should be noted that it was in a tense context that the EAC Chiefs of Staff met on February 9 in Nairobi for a strategic meeting.
The objective was, once again, to discuss the methods of action of the regional force, which is increasingly criticized in Kinshasa.
On leaving, new measures were taken, among other things, the foreign armies will share the areas conquered by the M23 after their withdrawal. This plan provides that the army of Burundi will occupy Sake, Kilolirwe and Kitchanga.
Good too, South Sudan and Kenya will manage Rumangabo. Kenya will be Kibumba, Tongo, Bwiza and Kishishe. Meanwhile, the Ugandan army will occupy Bunagana, Kiwanja and Mabega.
