Angola’s President Lourenço, Kenyatta in Kinshasa For Security Talks

The Angolan President, João Lourenço and the former Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta are due in DRC on a State visit where they will have a one-on-one with the President Félix Tshisekedi.

According to the DRC Presidency, the security situation in the eastern part of the DRC is at the center of the important meeting in Kinshasa.

In turn, the Angolan President João Lourenço, appointed mediator by SADC and the AU for the de-escalation between the DRC and Rwanda, will be received this Saturday, November 12 by Tshisekedi .

President Lourenço visit to the DRC, is part of the relaunch of the Luanda process. His visit was preceded by the Angolan Foreign Minister, Tête Antonio, who has been in Kinshasa to prepare for the said visit.
Former Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta appointed facilitator by the East African Community (EAC) in the Nairobi process for peace and security in eastern DRC will arrive in Kinshasa on Sunday.

Uhuru Kenyatta will meet President Tshisekedi in order to prepare the Nairobi III meeting with the actors involved in this peace process.

In his agenda, the facilitator Kenyatta plans to meet nearly fifty representatives of the communities of the provinces of Ituri, North and South Kivu as well as heads of institutions.
