Beam Global to Entice Rwanda With Tech For Clean, Safe, Sustainable Electricity & Transportation

Desmond Wheatley, Beam Global’s President, CEO of Beam Global, an international based sustainable Technology Innovation Company arrived in Rwanda on Sunday evening.

Beam Global, is an international based sustainable Technology Innovation Company with headquarters in San Diego California USA and currently operating in 23 countries.

“The purpose of my trip is to share the sustainable technologies which we developed and deployed in over 23 countries. We think these technologies are very relevant in Rwanda today,” said Desmond Wheatley.

According to him, Beam Global “focuses on using sustainable energy to provide very robust and safe supplies of electricity to people and also for electrification of transportation using renewable sources.”

He told reporters upon arrival in the Capital Kigali that Beam Global has chosen to explore Rwanda.

Desmond Wheatley (pictured above) told reporters, that on Monday, “We are going to have a series of meetings with government officials.”

He also revealed that the state of California signed Memorandum of Understanding with both Kenya and Nigeria.

“The same MOU is likely to be extended to Rwanda and other East African countries,” He said.

According to Wheatley, “the MOU is about sharing Sustainable Technologies which have been developed and deployed in California. Showing the same technologies with this part of the world with the hope democratising access to clean safe, sustainable electricity and transportation.”

He emphasized, “We want to Democratise access to safe, affordable energy and safe affordable transportation.”

Owing to the hike in oil prices because of the war in the Gulf, electricity prices are also going up allover the world.

Rwanda has fantastic resources that “we can convert into electricity without having to import from other places in the world,” he explained.

“We can bring technology into this market that can allow Rwandan people take advantage of their energy sources,” said Wheatley.
