Mazembe, Tanganyika Clash To Goaless Draw

FC Tanganyika and Tout Puissant Mazembe clashed on Wednesday in a high stakes match that ended in a goalless draw at Joseph Kabila Stadium in Kalemie,

The home side displayed well-organized game before thousands of fans, Tanganyika’s players launched attack after attack against a cautious TP Mazembe, who lined up with a five-man defense and lacked a true playmaker in midfield.

Under Slimane’s management, the Ravens struggled to impose their game and withstood repeated assaults from the Kalemiards, who were ultimately thwarted by an imperious Marc Aruna in goal.

The Senegalese goalkeeper kept Mazembe in the game throughout the first half.

Upon returning from the locker room, the Black and Whites’ coach attempted to rebalance the game. Josué Kazema and Dan Mbaya were replaced by Bongeli and Patrick Mwaungulu.

The midfield gained some solidity, and the attack was better supplied, but efficiency was lacking.

Despite a few promising opportunities, Mazembe couldn’t find a breakthrough.FC Tanganyika held on for a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

This result allows TP Mazembe to maintain their provisional lead in the Central-South group, while Tanganyika confirms their home form.
