Washington is pressing harder on implementation of a peace Accord it mediated between Kigali and Kinshasa.
United States brought together military planners from the DRC and Rwanda in Garmisch, Germany, as part of the Joint Security Coordination Mechanism (JSCM).
According to details, discussions have focused on finalizing a draft operations order designed to implement the security commitments of the Washington Accords for Peace and Prosperity.
According to the U.S. statement, this plan is intended to guide the neutralization of the FDLR by the DRC, as well as the disengagement of Rwandan forces and the lifting of their defensive measures.
The African Union, Qatar, and U.S. partners also took part in the exchanges.
The draft operations order still needs to be approved before guiding the implementation of these commitments.
