Impeccable information from reliable Frontline sources indicate that FRN rebels commanded by Former President Joseph Kabila are few kilometers from the strategic Uvira City the Capital of South Kivu Province.

Fighters of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) captured Kahwizi(Kawizi) locality located less than 10 kilometers from the city of Uvira, in South Kivu.

Meanwhile, France’s TV5 Monde has been relaying the situation on ground.

An eye witness quoted in the video says, “We hear the gunfire echoing across the hills and the highlands. We ask President Tshisekedi to have pity on us and put an end to this war. I will no longer flee to Burundi. I will stay in my country. And if I must die, I will die here.”

Fighting was reported early Tuesday on the strategic hill called TChad near Luola on the road leading toward Minjenje.

What happens when Uvira Falls

Inside the FRN situation room, Kabila is consistently presiding over planning meetings to ensure success of operations.

According to political analysts well conversant with the ongoing war between the rebels and Kinshasa regime troops, “once Uvira and Kaliémie fall automatically, the game changes and Kabila regains his standing.”

This means that President Felix Tshisekedi will be forced to go into direct discussions with Joseph Kabila.
