Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has issued a public notice assuring residents, tourists, and international investors that all activities across the country are continuing normally despite heightened Ebola prevention measures introduced by the Ministry of Health.
In the statement released on Monday, the RDB emphasized that Rwanda currently has no confirmed Ebola cases and that proactive measures are being implemented to safeguard public health while maintaining confidence in the country’s tourism and business sectors.
The notice comes amid regional health concerns linked to neighboring areas, prompting authorities to strengthen monitoring and preventive protocols at key entry points.
Tourism and Business Activities Continue Normally
According to the RDB, tourism operations, conferences, business activities, and domestic travel remain fully operational across Rwanda.
Officials stressed that the country remains safe for visitors and residents, with health authorities actively monitoring the situation.
The board also highlighted Rwanda’s commitment to maintaining public safety without disrupting economic and tourism activities.
Stricter Border and Entry Controls Introduced
As part of the enhanced prevention strategy, Rwanda has reinforced health screening and surveillance measures at land borders and at Kigali International Airport.
Updated travel guidance:
Foreign nationals who have traveled to or transited through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) within 30 days prior to their intended arrival in Rwanda will be denied entry.
Rwandan citizens and foreign residents with valid residency permits will still be allowed entry, but those arriving from or through the DRC during the same 30-day period will undergo mandatory quarantine procedures in accordance with public health regulations.
Additional Health Screening Measures
Authorities have also strengthened hygiene and health surveillance procedures at selected border posts and major entry points.
Travelers arriving from areas considered high-risk may be subjected to additional medical screening and other public health measures aligned with international health regulations.
Residents and visitors have been encouraged to continue observing standard hygiene practices and to follow guidance issued by health authorities.

The Rwanda Development Board reiterated that the country is taking a proactive approach to prevent any potential outbreak while ensuring that normal life and economic activities continue uninterrupted.
The notice reflects Rwanda’s broader effort to maintain confidence in the country as a safe destination for tourism, investment, and international events while prioritizing public health preparedness.
