Rwanda has intensified its tourism promotion efforts in South America following a series of inaugural #VisitRwanda roadshows held across Brazil this week.

The outreach campaign was led by Irène Murerwa, Chief Tourism Officer at Rwanda Development Board, alongside Lawrence Manzi, Rwanda’s ambassador to Brazil.

The delegation included a group of Rwandan tour operators and travel agents seeking to expand Rwanda’s footprint within the South American travel market.

The roadshows were hosted in the Brazilian cities of São Paulo, Brasília, and Rio de Janeiro, where the delegation engaged members of the Brazilian travel trade, tourism stakeholders, and media representatives.

According to organizers, the initiative aimed to position Rwanda as a premier tourism destination by highlighting the country’s diverse travel experiences, including wildlife tourism, cultural heritage, luxury hospitality, adventure travel, and eco-tourism offerings.

The events also focused on building long-term partnerships between Rwandan tourism operators and Brazilian travel companies.

Delegates introduced curated travel packages designed specifically for Brazilian travelers and the broader South American market, reflecting growing interest in African destinations among international tourists.

The Brazil roadshows mark an important step in Rwanda’s broader tourism expansion strategy as the country seeks to diversify its source markets and strengthen its global tourism presence through the #VisitRwanda campaign.
