Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Army, and his accompanying delegation are currently on a five-day official visit to the Central African Republic (CAR), during which he paid a courtesy call on Lt Gen Humphrey Nyone, Force Commander of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
The meeting underscores Rwanda’s continued commitment to regional peace and security cooperation on the African continent.
As a leading troop-contributing nation to peacekeeping missions across Africa, Rwanda’s engagement with MINUSCA leadership reflects the depth of its diplomatic and military partnerships in the region.
The courtesy call is expected to cover areas of mutual interest including peacekeeping operations, security coordination, and the broader stabilisation efforts ongoing in the Central African Republic.
Rwanda has maintained a significant peacekeeping presence in CAR, and high-level engagements of this nature serve to strengthen operational ties between the RDF and UN mission structures on the ground.
The five-day official visit signals Rwanda’s sustained investment in multilateral security frameworks and its role as a reliable partner in supporting peace processes across fragile and conflict-affected states in Africa.
