Taarifa investigative Desk has established that the DRC National Assembly on Monday declared admissible the USA and DRC-Rwanda Agreements.

The two major bills, have been sent to the Foreign Relations Committee for further examination. The committee has twenty-four hours to submit its report.

The DRC-US agreement establishes a strategic partnership in key sectors such as critical minerals, energy, infrastructure, and security.

It also provides a structured cooperation framework with joint monitoring mechanisms, while guaranteeing respect for national sovereignty.

The second text concerns the peace agreement signed on June 27, 2025 between the DRC and Rwanda.

It aims for the cessation of hostilities, respect for territorial integrity, the disengagement of forces and the establishment of a joint security coordination mechanism, with a view to lasting stability in the region.

During the debates, several MPs stressed the need for transparency, parliamentary vigilance and strict adherence to commitments.

The adoption of the incidental motion by MP Pierre Sumeyi brought the debate to an end.

In his motion, he pointed out that those who had already spoken, particularly the opposition members Célestin Musao (Ensemble et alliés, the only parliamentary opposition group) and Gratien de Saint-Nicolas Iracan (opposition member and president of Non-Inscrits), had all supported these agreements.

He said, there was no point in wasting time with the debate.
