‘Youth Will Play Key Role in Future’ – Says President Kagame

President Paul Kagame says Rwandan youth need to be equipped with the right education much early to prepare them for the future in which they will play a key role.

“Young people are the future of every country and every society. But we do not only look at the future, we also look at the present. The fact that the youth will play a key role in the future requires us to equip them with the right education,” said President Kagame.

He made the remarks on Thursday while presiding over the swearing-in-ceremony of the new Minister of Youth Dr. Jean Nepo Abdallah Utumatwishima.

Dr.Utumatwishima, 40, a public health professional, was on March 24th appointed as the new Minister of Youth effectively replacing Rosemary Mbabazi, who was appointed as High Commissioner of Rwanda to Ghana.

Utumatwishima was born in Kinigi, Musanze District. He is a father of three – two daughters and a son.

Before rising to this Ministerial position, Dr. Utumatwishima had served as the director of Kinihira, Ruhengeri, and Rwamagana hospitals, respectively, for 10 years.
