Details have emerged that a new military offensive is being prepared by SAMIDRC forces against the M23 fighters anytime.
The new offensive phase comes at a time, when security situation in Goma city has deteriorated especially in areas of Nyiragongo characterised by killings, thefts, rapes, and kidnappings.
The security services on Thursday said they had arrested alleged gunmen linked to the recent assassinations across Goma city, in North Kivu. The suspects include; three soldiers, two Wazalendo militiamen and 17 women suspected of collaborating with the assassins.
“We condemn what happened with an element of our army in Majengo,” said mayor of Goma, senior commissioner Faustin Kapend Kamand.
