Rwanda’s Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe Attends AU Executive Council Session in Malabo

Rwanda’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, is in Malabo for the 47th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) Member States.

Held under the theme “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” the high-level session brings together foreign ministers from across the continent to discuss key continental priorities, including historical justice, economic integration, and institutional reforms.

The Council is set to deliberate on accelerating Africa’s integration process, particularly the implementation status of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and the progress of the 2025 AU Theme of the Year.

The meeting comes at a critical time as AU member states intensify calls for reparative justice and equitable development frameworks.

Minister Nduhungirehe’s participation signals Rwanda’s continued engagement in continental affairs, with a focus on strengthening unity, economic cooperation, and the pursuit of justice for African people globally.

The outcomes of the Executive Council session will inform decisions at the upcoming AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
