Delegates from over 30 African countries have begun arriving in Rwanda’s capital Kigali ahead of the International Quran Competition 2024 which kicks off on Sunday.
The competition will be held at Gicumbi District Conference Centre, and Camp Kigali on 21st April 2024.
Quran recital competition is considered vital in promoting the universal message of peace through the Quran, and also aims to preserve Muslim culture and tradition.
This competition unites scholars, preachers, and Quran reciters from across the world.
Meanwhile, winners of the competition receive various cash awards and are also given certificates.
Organisers say the award motivates the younger generations to adhere to their religion and fulfill their responsibilities towards Islam, which is based on goodness, tolerance, and cohesion.
