Rwanda will host the Global AI Summit on Africa (GAISAfrica2025) on April 3-4, 2025, at the Kigali Convention Centre, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and innovators to shape Africa’s AI-driven future.

Organized by the Ministry of ICT and Innovation in partnership with the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Rwanda and the World Economic Forum (WEF), the summit will focus on AI’s role in economic transformation, innovation, and workforce development.

Under the theme “AI and Africa’s Demographic Dividend: Reimagining Economic Opportunities for Africa’s Workforce,” discussions will explore AI applications in healthcare, agriculture, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing data sovereignty, governance, and responsible AI adoption.

With Africa’s workforce projected to be the fastest-growing globally by 2050, AI could contribute $2.9 trillion to the continent’s economy by 2030, according to C4IR Rwanda. The summit will highlight Africa’s strategic role in the global AI ecosystem and outline policy frameworks and investments needed to maximize AI’s benefits.

Rwanda’s selection as the host underscores its position as a technology leader in Africa, driven by strong digital policies and innovation-friendly regulations. The GAISAfrica2025 summit is expected to set the agenda for AI-driven economic growth in Africa, reinforcing the continent’s role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
