The Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Qatar’s Internal Security Force, Lekhwiya, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, establishing a framework for enhanced security cooperation between the two nations.
The agreement formalizes security collaboration between Rwanda and Qatar’s elite internal security forces. The MoU focuses on strengthening mutual security interests and operational capabilities.
The partnership brings together Rwanda’s expertise in community policing with Qatar’s advanced security capabilities. Lekhwiya’s experience in major event security, counterterrorism could benefit Rwanda’s security apparatus.
The agreement represents growing diplomatic ties between Rwanda and Qatar.
The cooperation agreement is expected to cover joint training initiatives, information sharing, technical expertise exchange, and security technology modernization.
Rwanda has emerged as one of Africa’s safest developing nations, so is its security forces while Qatar’s Lekhwiya has established itself as a leading force in internal security operations. Both forces have garnered international recognition for their professional standards.
