In the first week of January Rwanda exported very low volumes of coffee fetching low revenue compared to previous weeks.
According to National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), the country shipped out 37.7MT of coffee worth only U$270,684; the main destinations included Poland, and the U.S.A.
Unlike coffee, Rwanda last week exported 666.4MT of Tea sold at U$3.0/Kg that fetched a whopping U$2,009,245. Rwanda’s tea was last week shipped to Pakistan, Egypt, UK, Sudan, and Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, NAEB said a total of 580.8MT of horticultural (fruits, vegetables & flowers) were exported last week sold at USD4.1/Kg and fetching over U$797,619 -the main countries of destination include; DRC, Germany, France, UK, and The Netherlands.
Other agri-export products ranging from Animal products (U$ 271,156), Cereals, grains & flour (U$ 1,245,817), Roots & tubers (U$ 123,760), Pulses (U$ 75,760) and others (U$ 41,368). These were destined to DRC, Vietnam, and S. Sudan..
