“On October 27, 2023, from the Plesetsk cosmodrome (Arkhangelsk region), the combat crew of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces launched the Soyuz-2.1b medium-class launch vehicle with spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the defense department said in a statement . .
The Ministry of Defense announced the launch of another Soyuz-2.1b rocket with a satellite from the Plesetsk cosmodrome on August 7. In total, 13 out of 22 Russian missiles were launched from Plesetsk in 2022.
The carrier rocket and the spacecraft were launched to the operational orbit were carried out in a routine mode.
Once the carrier rocket was launched, Soyuz-2.1b was taken under control by ground-based facilities of the automated control system of the Main Testing Space Centre named after G.Titov.
At the estimated time, the spacecraft reached the operational orbit by ‘Fregat’ transfer orbit stage and taken under control by Russian Aerospace Forces’ ground-based facilities.
The spacecraft is in sustainable telemetric contact. The on-board systems function in a normal mode. The ordinal number assigned to the spacecraft is Kosmos-2563.
