The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced new adjustments to fuel prices, effective from 7:00 PM on August 7, 2024.
This update follows a previous revision on June 5, 2024.
Under the latest announcement, the maximum retail price for Gasoline (Premium Motor Spirit) will be Rwf1,629 per liter, a decrease from Rwf1,663 per liter. This represents a reduction of approximately 2.0%.
The price for Diesel (Automotive Gas Oil) remains unchanged at Rwf1,652 per liter, maintaining the same price as before.
RURA’s Director General, RUGIGANA Evariste, stated that these adjustments are primarily influenced by recent changes in international petroleum product prices.
The goal is to align local fuel prices with current global market trends and economic conditions.
The revision in gasoline prices, in particular, may positively impact various sectors, notably transportation and logistics, which are significantly affected by fuel costs.
RURA’s adjustments in fuel prices reflect its commitment to adapting to global economic shifts, with the reduction in gasoline prices likely benefiting consumers and businesses alike.
