The Deputy Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Consolée Kamarampaka, has called on investigators to uphold discipline, embrace technology, and improve the quality of their work during her visit to investigators in Rwanda’s Southern Province.
The visit focused on enhancing the quality of case files, improving service delivery to citizens, and reinforcing professional conduct among investigators. Speaking during the session, Kamarampaka urged investigators to shun corruption and anything that could tarnish their integrity, emphasizing the need to serve as role models in their communities.
“Your role as investigators demands the highest standards of discipline and integrity. Avoid corruption and remain exemplary in all that you do,” she stressed.
The Deputy Secretary General also highlighted the critical role of technology in modern crime investigation. She encouraged investigators to adopt and continually refine their technological skills, noting that many crimes today are perpetrated using advanced tools and methods.
“Embracing technology in your daily work is no longer optional. Stay updated and skilled because technology is central to both the commission and prevention of crimes in this era,” Kamarampaka advised.
This visit is part of a broader initiative aimed at engaging investigators across the country. It will extend to other provinces and the City of Kigali, providing an opportunity to discuss challenges faced by investigators and explore solutions to enhance the delivery of justice.
Through these engagements, RIB seeks to ensure that its investigators are well-equipped, professional, and responsive to the needs of the public while upholding the values of transparency and accountability.
The initiative underscores RIB’s commitment to maintaining public trust and improving service delivery in its mission to combat crime and uphold the rule of law.
