Rwanda Investigations Bureau announced on Thursday that it arrested and detained local leaders in Musanze district that appeared in a viral video while beating residents that walked without wearing facemasks.
Sebashotsi Jean Paul the executive Secretary Cyuve Sector, Tuyisabimana Jean Leonidas the executive sectretary Kabeza cell, Nsabimana Anaclet (Dasso),Abiyingoma Sylvain (Dasso) descended on two residents and thoroughly beat them accusing them of loitering around without wearing face masks.
The victims have been identified as Dushime Jean Baptiste and Nyirangaruye Uwineza Clarisse.
The local leaders and their Dasso accomplices are currently being held at Muhoza Police Station in Musanze District in Nothern Rwanda.
“The suspects are being investigated for beating Dushime Jean Baptiste and Nyirangaruye Uwineza Clarisse,” RIB said adding, that their dossier is being prepared as it awaits forwarding to Prosecution.
