The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has apprehended six individuals, including two court officials, on charges of corruption. Among those arrested are Mwiseneza Jerome, a clerk at Gatunda Primary Court, and Mabondo Semahoro Victor, a court bailiff. The other four suspects are alleged accomplices in the scheme.
The suspects are accused of soliciting money from individuals, promising to secure the release of their detained relatives or provide legal assistance in ongoing court cases.
Currently, the suspects are detained at RIB stations in Gatunda and Nyagatare as their case files are being finalized for submission to the Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
RIB has praised citizens who actively reject corrupt practices and report such incidents to authorities. The bureau reiterated its commitment to ensuring accountability and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating corruption.
This development highlights ongoing efforts by RIB to uphold integrity and transparency within the justice system.
