Judith Suminwa Tuluka has been appointed as the first woman to head government in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She succeeds Sama Lukonde
“We are a country at war, it is a mistake to have a woman in this position at the moment. Why give such a heavy task to a person who does not master everything she has to face? Personally, I don’t see her finishing her mandate given the charge that awaits her,” says Mélanie Mambo, an agent in a cosmetics company.
Joël Boteko invites the Prime Minister to be supported by competent people to meet all the challenges awaiting his government.
“In view of her status, her profile as described yesterday on RTNC and her record at the Ministry of Planning, she did not deserve this position. But at this stage, we can do nothing other than ask her to bring worthy men and women into her government for the success of her mandate, otherwise she will waste our time unnecessarily.”
Carlys Malolo, a computer scientist by training notes that “It’s good to have women at the head of decision-making bodies.” But I don’t share the idea of making her a prime minister. Women have never been as authoritarian as that for command. Generally, women work with the heart and not the head. It wasn’t worth putting her in such a strategic position.”
The Congolese Business Women’s Network (REFEC) notes with satisfaction the appointment of Judith Tuluka to the post of Prime Minister, a first in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
For this purpose, REFEC thanks Félix Tshisekedi for choosing a woman with a remarkable career.
“This appointment demonstrates once again that His Excellency, Mr. President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, firmly believes in women to contribute to the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),” underlined this network.
To the Prime Minister, Judith Tuluka, REFEC wishes every success in bringing the country’s institutions to fruition.
“Her Excellency, Ms. Judith Tuluka, the network of Congolese business women remains behind you to support you in this heavy task in order to meet the challenges facing the country, particularly on the social and security levels.”
Before being appointed head of government, Judith Tuluka was Minister of Planning in the Sama Lukonde government.
