During his official visit to Algeria, President Paul Kagame toured the country’s National School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA), a flagship institution in North Africa dedicated to advancing research, education, and innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
ENSIA, located in Algiers, is considered one of the region’s top training grounds for future AI and data science experts.
The institution offers an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, equipping students with skills that are increasingly vital in the global digital economy.
President Kagame’s visit highlighted the growing importance Rwanda places on technology and innovation as key pillars of its development agenda.
Rwanda currently has five students enrolled at ENSIA. The President took time to meet with them, underscoring the country’s commitment to building a skilled, tech-savvy workforce that can drive Rwanda’s digital transformation.
Officials at ENSIA expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Rwanda and hinted at the potential for future partnerships in AI research and education.
President Kagame’s visit also aligns with Rwanda’s broader efforts to position itself as a continental hub for digital innovation and emerging technologies.
