President Kagame Sends Special Message To His Congolese Counterpart

Foreign Affairs Minister, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, on Wednesday, delivered a special message from President PaulKagame to Denis Sassou-N’Guesso, President of the Republic of Congo.

The meeting took place at the presidential palace in Brazzaville.

“I would like to thank President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso for warmly welcoming me this afternoon at the presidential palace in Brazzaville, in my capacity as the Special Envoy of President Paul Kagame,” stated Minister Nduhungirehe.

The discussions between the two leaders focused on several key issues, including the candidacy of Dr. Richard Mihigo for the position of Regional Director of the World Health Organization’s Africa Region (WHOAFRO) and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and partnerships.

The meeting underscores the ongoing efforts to bolster diplomatic and cooperative ties between Rwanda and the Republic of Congo, aiming to enhance mutual interests and regional collaboration.

During the meeting, President Sassou-N’Guesso and Minister Nduhungirehe reiterated the commitment by both countries to fostering strong bilateral relations and supporting each other in international forums and initiatives.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mihigo’s candidacy for the WHOAFRO position was highlighted as a strategic move to ensure effective leadership in addressing public health challenges in the region.

This high-level meeting reflects the importance both countries place on diplomatic engagement and their shared vision for regional stability and development.
