President Kagame in Kazakhstan To Strengthening Bilateral Ties

President Paul Kagame has lauded Kazakhstan’s rapid development and growing global influence during an official visit to the Central Asian nation, where he was warmly received by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Aqorda Presidential Palace in Astana.

In remarks delivered during a bilateral meeting with President Tokayev and their respective delegations, President Kagame praised Kazakhstan’s progress, attributing it to strong leadership and the resilience of its people.

“Kazakhstan has made remarkable strides in national development, matched by a growing and constructive role on the world stage. This speaks to your leadership, Mr President, and to the determination of the Kazakh people,” Kagame said.

The Rwandan leader emphasized the importance of collaboration built on shared values. “We are happy to be partners and friends. In Rwanda, we know that such progress is built over time through good governance and working with the right partners. That is why we are here,” he added.

President Kagame arrived in Astana yesterday for an official visit and to take part in the Astana International Forum.

His trip reflects Rwanda’s broader strategy of diversifying partnerships and deepening cooperation with countries beyond its traditional diplomatic circles.

Earlier today, President Kagame and President Tokayev held one-on-one discussions at the Aqorda Presidential Palace, ahead of a planned closed-door meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

The leaders are expected to explore new avenues of bilateral cooperation in sectors including trade, technology, and sustainable development.

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening Rwanda-Kazakhstan relations, with both nations aiming to harness their respective development experiences and forge strategic partnerships in a changing global landscape.
