President Kagame Attends 2024 Africa CEO Forum

President Paul Kagame is attending the 2024 Africa CEO Forum taking place at the Kigali Convention Centre(May-16-17) in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.

How can Africa secure its place among tomorrow’s leading powers?; this is the question that is shaping the ongoing deliberations.

“This morning at the Kigali Convention Centre, President Kagame joins visiting Heads of State and Government, leaders of international institutions, global policy-makers and dignitaries, industry leaders and representatives of the private sector for the Opening Session of the 2024 Africa CEO Forum,” the office of the President said on Thursday.

The forum is engaging over 2,500 leaders shaping the future of Africa – from both public and private sectors.

It is organised by Jeune Afrique Media Group in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group.

Kenyan President William Ruto, Mozambican President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, and Djiboutian President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh are in Kigali for this forum.

Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé and Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah are expected to attend.

Amir Ben Yahmed, the CEO of Jeune Afrique Media Group observed, “When preparing for this edition, we heard a private sector that was worried about three issues.”

“Our unity, with 30% of our countries are embroiled in some kind of covert or open confrontation. Our attractiveness. Five years after it entered into force, a crucial transformative project like the AFCFTA is showing little signs of progress. And a continuing deterioration of our macroeconomic situation with, for the 1st time in 25 years, an increase of poverty on the continent.”
