MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Paula Ingabire, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, during a recent trip to Kigali.

The visit also included engagements with the leadership teams of MTN Rwandacell PLC and Mobile Money Rwanda.

In their discussions, Mupita and Minister Ingabire exchanged insights on key developments in the ICT sector, with particular focus on the outcomes of the inaugural AI Africa Summit, hosted in Kigali in April 2025.

The summit marked a pivotal moment for the continent, reinforcing Africa’s resolve to play an active and leading role in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Mr. Mupita, who was recently appointed Deputy Chairperson of the GSMA through to the end of 2026, took the opportunity to reiterate MTN Group’s strong support and full participation in MWC Africa 2025, scheduled to be held in Kigali later this year.

As Africa’s premier mobile and digital technology event, MWC Africa serves as a crucial platform for uniting policymakers, regulators, operators, and innovators to advance inclusive connectivity and sustainable digital transformation.

MTN Group remains firmly committed to driving Africa’s digital future—through bold investments in connectivity, strategic partnerships, and the transformative power of artificial intelligence.

By fostering innovation and enabling access to digital solutions, MTN continues to play a central role in unlocking socio-economic growth and empowering communities across the continent.
