Leaders Jet in For Kagame Inauguration in Kigali

Several leaders have begun jetting in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali ahead of the swearing-in Ceremony of President-elect Paul Kagame scheduled on Sunday.

According to government, the colourful ceremony will be held at the 45,000-seater Amahoro National Stadium in Kigali.

Quite interesting among guests that have so far arrived include Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba who jetted in aboard Uganda’s national carrier early Saturday evening.

Former Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta, President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique among others have already set foot in Rwanda ahead of Kagame’s inauguration.

Kagame at 66 won the presidential election with a gigantic 99 percent of the vote while other contenders Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda got 0.5%, independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana fetched 0.32%.
