Kigali Mayor Welcomes Vital Strategies CEO Ahead of Global NCD Alliance Forum

The Mayor of Kigali, Samuel Dusengiyumva, today hosted Dr. Mary-Ann Etiebet, President and CEO of Vital Strategies, along with her delegation, for a courtesy visit ahead of the 2025 Global NCD Alliance Forum, set to begin tomorrow in Rwanda.

Their discussions highlighted the strong partnership between the City of Kigali and Vital Strategies, particularly through the Partnership for Healthy Cities Initiative, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The collaboration focuses on preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and injuries, as well as air quality monitoring, among other public health initiatives.

The Global NCD Alliance Forum brings together health experts, policymakers, and organizations committed to addressing NCDs and urban health challenges. Kigali, a regional leader in health-focused urban planning, continues to strengthen its efforts through global partnerships like the one with Vital Strategies.

The forum is expected to drive discussions on policy innovations, data-driven solutions, and collaborative strategies to tackle the growing burden of NCDs worldwide.
