Kenya’s capital, Nairobi is all ready to host the 2nd edition of EU-Kenya Business Forum scheduled tomorrow May 12–13.
According to organisers, the Business Forum will be guided by the theme “Digitalising Trade.”
The Forum which will officially be opened by President William Ruto brings together high-level policymakers, private sector leaders, innovators, and development partners to explore how digital transformation can enhance trade efficiency, increase market access, and promote sustainable and inclusive growth.
By focusing on digitalisation, the Forum aims to equip businesses in both regions with the knowledge and tools to leverage technology for greater competitiveness and inclusivity in the global marketplace.
President Ruto, Henriette Geiger EU Ambassador to Kenya, EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and European Investment Bank Vice-President Thomas Ostros will open the discussion and highlight the importance of this forum for both EU and Kenyan businesses.
The event will also mark the official launch of the EuroCham: a network of EU and Kenyan companies operating in Kenya.
EU investments account for more than 20% of Kenya’s total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stock.
It should be remembered that Kenya and the EU signed an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) on 1st July 2024.
This agreement provides greater certainty and stability for EU investment, creating opportunities for business success in both Kenya and the EU.
The forum is jointly organised by the EU Delegation, EU Member States embassies, and key Kenyan stakeholders.
