Rwandans will nolonger access services of Energy 4 Impact (E4I) an international non profit that has been operating several energy access projects in Rwanda including Modern Cooking Services (MECS) project.
According to a public notice issued by the organisation, no reason has been provided for this impromptu closure.It has been operating in the country since 2013.
“This closure will be completed as soon as we fulfill the necessary regulatory requirements and get the approval as stipulated by Rwanda Governance Board (RGB),” the notice reads in part.
Energy 4 Impact operates from regional offices in Benin, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal and Tanzania, supported by a small head office in London.
The organisation says has managed to impact the lives of over 20 million people, supported 14,700 businesses, and created 18,700 jobs through its operations in the five countries in Africa.
According to its website, its operations have led to avoiding 14 million tones of carbon-dioxide (Co2) and it also raised U$193 million to support businesses.
