The Board of Directors has appointed Carine Umutoni as the new Managing Director of ECOBANK Rwanda Plc effective November 14, 2022.
“The Board, Management and Staff of ECOBANK Rwanda Plc would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Carine Umutoni on her appointment and thanked Alice for her dedicated service since joining ECOBANK Rwanda in six years,” the statement signed by Yvan Twagirashema, the Board Chairperson said.
Carine Umutoni has over 18 years of experience including the last four years as the Managing Director of BK Capital Limited.
She has previously served in Senior Management roles in the banking sector in Rwanda such as Head of Treasury and Trade Finance at Bank of Kigali, Head of Treasury and Institutional Banking at KCB Bank Rwanda and Head of Treasury and Trade Finance at Banque Comercialle du Rwanda (BCR) now I&M Bank Rwanda.
She holds MBA in corporate Strategy and Economic Policy from Maastricht University, Netherlands.
Umutoni will be responsible for ECOBANK in executing its growth and strategy in the Rwandan market.
She replaces Alice Kilonzho Zulu who has served as Managing Director for the last six years.
