The name Dontez isn’t foreign — it carries a personal story. It’s a blend of Don and Tess, the son and daughter of the restaurant’s proprietor, grounding the brand in family and local identity.
This Sunday, Dontez will host an exclusive soft launch, welcoming a small group of invited guests for a first taste of the menu and experience.
The restaurant will officially open to the public on Monday.
“We wanted to create a place that feels familiar yet fresh — a spot where people can grab great food and also take their time to relax,” says Natasha Muhoza, the restaurant’s manager.
“Dontez is about more than fast service. It’s about community, comfort, and a consistently good experience.”
Located at 5KG 621 Street in Kimihurura, Dontez was designed for everyday enjoyment — whether it’s a quick weekday lunch, an easy dinner with the kids, or a slow coffee break on a weekend afternoon.
The menu is packed with crowd-pleasers: flame-roasted chicken in quarter, half, or full servings; stacked burgers and cheesy combos; varieties of pizza from BBQ steak to veggie supreme; fresh smoothies; tropical shakes; and hand-scooped ice cream.
Family feast bundles and kids’ meals make it a great fit for group dining too.
The setting is just as considered. Dontez features a relaxed outdoor seating area, green gardens, and a dedicated playground — making it as ideal for solo diners and couples as it is for families with children.
